The Father’s Love is Yours
The Father’s love is yours. Take that in. Even the love that the Father has for his son, Jesus. Take a hold of that and never let go! We are so blessed that this prayer is recorded by the Apostle John. It is for our benefit that we can see the inner workings of the Trinity. Christ, the perfect one, the maker of the heavens and earth, prays for us.
Jn 17:20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.”
We are Loved by the Father
Dear Christian, the Father loves us with the love that has he loved his Son from the beginning. The Father’s love is one of pure goodness without darkness or deceit. How blessed we would be if we held fast to this in our daily lives. Oh, let us live life through the lens of his eternal love.
Christ as an Example to Follow
Jesus believes and eternally experiences that the Father really does love him. Jesus does not believe the lie that we often believe about the unfairness of the God, who holds back blessings and goodness for our harm. Christ lived a perfect life because he entrusted himself to the Lord who judges perfectively. He suffered knowing of the joy set before him. He suffered knowing that his suffering was for our reconciliation. We were to be set free, chosen to know and be loved by both the Father and him. Dear Christian, we all too often go our own way like sheep and follow our own path. We redefine what goodness and love is to our detriment. May we hold fast to the love of the Father to enjoy Him, not holding onto snares of our past, but rejoicing in his goodness to us as his beloved children.
Hold Fast to the Father’s Love
The Father’s love is eternal. He will never forsake you. Although you will suffer in this life, as everyone has since the foundation of the world, He has rescued you through Christ for everlasting fellowship. Remember, if you are in Christ, he may lead you on paths not of your choosing, but one always of love. The Love of a perfect Father has his son Jesus and yes, you.
Rom 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
